A free chapter from my new book (plus the full recipe list)

Thanks so much for being a part of the Floury Friday community.

With the launch of my book Sourdough Without Fail getting closer, I wanted to give you an early look inside the book.

I’ve linked a PDF of the first chapter to the button below. In this chapter you’ll find:

  • A story about my own baking journey
  • The most common causes of sourdough fails (and ideas about how to fix them)
  • A complete beginner-friendly recipe with photos and full explanations of every step

You’ll also see the full recipe list for the book, so that you know what’s included (Danish pastries, doughnuts, pizza, gluten-free sourdough, fruit bread, olive bread, sandwich breads, and much more!)

If the book looks like something you’d like to have in your kitchen, there’s a bonus available until 30 September: order the book, reply to this email with a screenshot of your receipt and I’ll send you the Sourdough Pizza ebook as a thank you.

The book can be pre-ordered now through all the usual online retailers. It will also be available from several bricks-and-mortar bookstores, or you can ask your local bookstore or library to order it in if they don't already have it.

This bonus is available for both paperback and ebook orders, and if you’ve already ordered the book without knowing about the bonus, you can still get it - just send me an email with your receipt or order confirmation and I’ll send the bonus your way.

Floury regards,

Kate

P.S. The chapter is a free sample, there’s no catch, and clicking the link won’t sign you up to a stream of spammy emails. I know not every sourdough book out there is going to suit every baker, so this is a chance for you to see if my book is something you’d like to bake from.

I’ve been getting early feedback from people who own several sourdough books. They are saying that Sourdough Without Fail is the first book that has made sourdough make sense, that I put the science of sourdough into actual human language, and that this book makes sourdough feel achievable and like something anyone can do. This is a book that can help people overcome obstacles and bake bread, and the thought of that makes me smile. I would really love for more people to hear about this book...

Just a quick recipe from me today - it's been a busy week and I'm away all day at a beekeeping course!I shared this recipe on Floury Friday a few months ago, but I've recently posted it up on my blog with updated information about how dutch oven baking works, and why it's the best method to replicate a traditional wood-fired brick oven in any home oven. It's such a great recipe, and a favourite with the recipe testing team for Sourdough Without Fail, so it's worth sharing again! Whole Grain...

Whole grain sourdough treats taste great, feel good to eat, and they don't have to be overly sour. In this email I'll be sharing strategies for minimising sourness and working with unrefined sweeteners. Tallow-fried doughnuts made with sourdough, fresh milled whole wheat flour, honey, butter, and homemade honey-sweetened cherry jam, sprinkled with coconut sugar and cinnamon...delicious!
